Options for a medical degree prospect
Poland is one of the fastest growing countries in Europe in terms of economy, alone with many employment opportunity. Science its joining of Schengen Agreement, which allows easy access with most of the other EU countries; this is a very good opportunity for those who wish to experience Europe. Polish Medical Universities are quite know in Europe, e.g. Medical University of Lublin, one if the university that is recognized by Medical Board of New York and California and many other states in U.S., with cooperation with 8 hospitals in North America. Upon graduation, the medical graduates can directly apply to residency program in well-known American medical schools; the university also has NBME/ USMLE simulation test center, allowing those who wish to pursue a medical career in U.S. another gateway. The University has three programs: 6 year MD (Doctor of Medicine), 5 year DDS program (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and 4 year Advanced MD. Other than the strength of MUL, Lublin itself is an attractive city, with rich historical and geographical attractions, while the living cost is relatively low. Moreover, Poland is the birth place for Nobel Prize winning Madame Curie, as well as the renowned scientist Nicolas Copernicus and musician Chopin. As an EU member, not only its economy is ever fast-growing, also with high social and career security, while having lower living cost while compared to most of the other member states.
Future prospects as a medical graduate
1. Are allowed to partake USMLE step 1 examination, and application for residency program in the U.S. in the future.
2. Alternatively, student can take Polish Medical/Dental Licensure examination (LEK/LDEK) to acquire Polish medical license, then in turn apply for other European license.
3. Hundreds of foreign graduates have already gained their Polish license and some even established their clinic operating in Poland.
4. There is an increasing number of countries those who recognized Polish Medical training, while their government allows the application for student loan/grant from applicant’s respective country; currently there are thousands of student are actively studying MD and DDS program in Polish medical universities. Nowadays almost all countries around the world recognizes the medical degrees earned in Poland
